With so many opportunities to buy gifts for the holidays, sometimes it's nice to find something unique.

There are plenty of outdoor Christmas markets to choose from, but the German Christmas Village (at West Shore Park in Baltimore's Inner Harbor), has proven to be a success year after year. Modeled after the traditional Christmas markets in Germany, the event is such a unique, authentic German experience that boasts more than just shopping!

The German Christmas Village will be set up from Saturday, November 17, through Sunday, December 23, so you'll have plenty of time to visit and get everything you need. On the first day (November 17), there will be a tree lighting ceremony, with live entertainment, music, speakers, food and drink vendors, and a photo shoot opportunity.

Admission is free on all weekdays, with $5 admission on weekends. On Baltimore’s Dollar Day Weekend, which is December 3 and 4, you’ll be able to enter the village for only $1 (you’ll also be able to enjoy all other attractions at the Inner Harbor, like the National Aquarium, for only $1, too, so this may be a great weekend to go!). Admission is always free for kids 18 years and younger.

Over 45 vendors will be present in the village, selling authentic German crafts and products. There will be a beautiful backdrop of a German town to set the mood and add to the experience. And no German Christmas Village can be complete without a beer garden. The Bavarian Beer Garden will sell everything from beer to brats.

You’ll love your time at this event, and people will love the presents you pick out for them there. Check out even more details here, or visit the German Christmas Village's website here.
