DETAILS: Virginia bluebells are native wildflowers that bloom along the edge of the river at Riverbend Park. Hosted by the Fairfax County Park Authority as a celebration of spring and nature, the Bluebells at the Bend festival will let you experience these beautiful flowers in full bloom up close. This is a great festival to bring the whole family to! There will be fun activities for adults and kids alike, such as live animal displays, face-painting, nature activities, puppet shows, wagon rides, and a moon bounce. There will also be live music by singer and guitarist Andrew McKnight. If you’re looking to take some beautiful photos, this is the perfect backdrop. For nature enthusiasts, the Bluebells festival is an opportunity to experience the magic of spring and all that a nature festival has to offer. Take a hike with a naturalist to learn about bluebells, why and how they bloom at the river, and ask all your pressing nature questions. You can learn more about the event on the Facebook page here.
