Jump, walk, run, or clean up at this year's "Shiver in the River" festival! This annual winter event has something for everyone who wants to help keep Virginia beautiful.

If a day in the outdoors spent helping your community sounds good to you, head to Richmond's 5th Shiver in the River along the James. Create a team, go with family or friends, or even participate solo to benefit Keep Virginia Beautiful.

When is Shiver in the River?

The festival is on Saturday, February 23, 2019. The big events are staggered throughout the day so you can participate in as many as you'd like. 

9:30 a.m. -- Registration
10 a.m. -- Community Cleanup
12 p.m. -- 5K Walk/Run
1:30 p.m. -- James River Jump
11 a.m.-4 p.m. -- Winter Festival

What is Shiver in the River?

This annual Richmond festival is a partnership with Keep Virginia Beautiful and one of the most anticipated events in the region. It consists of family-friendly activities like a community cleanup, a 5K Walk or Run, and a polar bear jump in the James River.

The center of the festival is Historic Tredegar in Richmond. The street address is 500 Tredegar Street | Richmond, VA.

How can I get involved?

Visit the event website to register for each event or to sign up for volunteering. If you can't make it but still want to contribute, there is even a link for making donations to the cause.
