Grab some friends and head to the Ocean City Convention Center for an enjoyable afternoon!
Ocean City will celebrate Leap Day in style: by showcasing the local craft brews of Maryland.
Saturday, February 29, the Ocean City Convention Center will dedicate itself to the Shore Craft Beer Fest: Love on Tap. In an attempt to warm up the cold month of "FeBREWary," the event is going to focus on local craft brews predominantly from Maryland's Eastern Shore region, but also from other regions of Maryland and Delaware.
The main event takes place Saturday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., with special VIP early access at 12:30 p.m. With more than 20 breweries, each showcasing several beers (and some meads!), you will have a seemingly endless supply of opportunity. The ticket into the convention center will give you unlimited free tastings as you enjoy the smooth rhythms of local musicians. There are also going to be several food options available, so be sure to pace yourself!
The Beer Fest really works to show that the Eastern Shore region of Maryland deserves to be called one of the best craft brew regions in the country. You can be the judge for yourself and taste the entire array of local flavors without having to step outside into that blustery winter air. The Convention Center is located at 4001 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, Maryland. You can purchase tickets in advance.
Make a Weekend of It
However, the tasting isn't the only exciting thing happening in relation to the Shore Craft Beer Fest this year. On Friday evening, you can attend a pre-party at Seacrets, a bar located at 117 49th Street. You can even get yourself a Beer Fest shirt!
In addition, nature lovers venturing to the Beer Fest can start their Saturday off with some local wildlife expeditions! The local Delmarva Birding Weekends is offering special hiking packages to those attending Beer Fest. Stretch your legs on a coastal stroll to see shorebirds, waterfowl, and even impressive raptors! These hikes take place all morning, both Saturday and Sunday.
To round out the festivities, you can recover at a local brunch at Fins Ale House and Raw Bar in nearby Berlin, Maryland, on Sunday. Toast to a great weekend and start planning your next pilgrimage to Ocean City!
