The Santa Fe based art company is bringing the party to Denver sooner than we thought.
Coloradans are patiently waiting for Meow Wolf to open their immersive art exhibition in Denver (only a year and a half to go), but that doesn't mean the art company isn't ready to immerse itself in the Mile High City and build a sense of community.
On Tuesday, September 10, the creative art company announced its latest event, Meow Wolf Dark Palace: A Dance Obscura. The three-day dance, music, and art festival is set to take place on November 22–25 at the National Western Complex.
The event will feature a blend of electronic music, art installation, and dancing, all wrapped up in the unique style of Meow Wolf. The festival will feature sets from DJs like Claude Vonstroke, MK, Guy Gerber, Lauren Lane, Shlomo, Dirty Monkey, and Shades. As for the art, Meow Wolf has invited local artists to collaborate and exhibit their art with on-site installations.
The announcement of the art-music hybrid event comes after the success the art collective had with its inaugural Taos Vortex festival in Taos, New Mexico.
"We are looking forward to bringing the same sense of community we experienced at Taos Vortex to Denver," said CEO of Meow Wolf, Vince Kadlubek, in a press statement. "We are excited to share this Meow Wolf event and hope people will join us for the ride as we expand and crate our permanent location in the city."
Meow Wolf became world-wide famous in 2015 when the art collective decided to renovate a vacant bolling alley and create their permanent facility. With funding from author George R.R. Martin and the city of Santa Fe, they opened The Meow Wolf Art Complex in 2016. The colorful and immersive art experience became so popular, they have decided to expand and create new art exhibitions in Denver and Las Vegas. Both are scheduled to open in 2020.
Tickets for Dark Palace are now on sale at Meow Wolf's website.
