Anime, art, comics, and more will make up the Ocean City Comic Con in December!

Everyone has a little bit of nerd in us -- whether it be that you've memorized dialogue from Star Wars, dedicated certain nights to different anime shows (definitely moi!), or avidly collected edition after edition of your favorite comic books. And guess what: In December you can unleash that nerdy side in all its glory because the first Ocean City Comic Con will be here!

WHEN: Saturday, December 8 | 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
WHERE: 4001 Coastal Highway (Roland E. Powell Convention Center)
COST: $8 (Kids 9 and younger get in free with a paying adult)
CONTACT: Click here

It's not an exaggeration when we say that you'll have a jam-packed day of fun that revolves around art, anime, comics, and cosplay. You'll be able to look through the work of over 100 vendors and artists, including Alicia's Anime (anime and video game-related apparel and items), Candy Corpse (pins and sassy socks), The Comic DoJo (a gaggle of comics), and many more.

You'll also have a chance to check out different anime screenings throughout the day with the help of the Delaware Anime Society, Crunchyroll, and Funimation. There are also plenty of panels for you to listen to! You can learn more about the cosplay community and how it's a welcoming and satisfying hobby for everyone. And if you want to start cosplaying but don't know where to begin, there's a panel that can show you the basics -- from patterns to the finished product. Or, if you want to be a writer, you can learn some tips from John French, who has edited five anthologies, published 13 books, and written over 100 short stories (so, we think it's safe to say you'll be in good hands with this one!). And these are just to name a few!

There'll even be a cosplay contest where you can display your best costumes. The contest will be hosted by Kati Coe -- an amazing cosplayer herself -- who was featured on AMC's Comic Book Men and is the co-owner of Red Bandana. Your costume will be judged by Jessie Jarvis, Carter Cosplay, and Toxic Girl Cosplay -- all equally phenomenal cosplayers who hold their weight in the cosplay world. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place. And as a bonus tip, if you're a kid entering the competition, you get a prize just for entering. Sounds to us like the first Ocean City Comic Con will be one of many to follow!
