Nothing says summer like a plateful of barbecue! Head out to the Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle for two days of festival fun!

Imagine tent after tent of some of your favorite grilled meats. Add in some live music, exhibits, and a hot dog eating contest and you've got this incredible annual event. Stretching out for blocks down Pennsylvania Avenue, the Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle is one you shouldn't miss!

Tickets get you general admission access to the dozens of live bands performing all weekend, free tastings throughout the festival, and outdoor restroom facilities. You can purchase additional food and beverages from any of the vendors, and many of the region's best grillmasters will be there peddling their tastiest dishes.

While you're there, check out exhibits like the Johnsonville "World's Largest Traveling Grill" and the famous Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. Get a selfie with Mr. Peanut or the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile! There's something going on each day in addition to all of the wonderful food.

Know Before You Go

  • Bags will be checked at the gate.
  • Prohibited items include pets, lawn chairs, glass bottles, cans, coolers, and bicycles.
  • You must be 21 and older to purchase and consume alcohol at this event. Be prepared to show I.D.
  • Cooking demonstrations will be held throughout the weekend. Stop by and rest a bit while you learn something new.
