Bird Watching | Noland Trail, Newport News | Sunday

Bring your binoculars and water bottle, and join other Hampton Roads Bird Club as they explore the Noland Trail scouring the sky for birds. Who knew a game of chess could really be turned into a musical? Watch as this game of chess turns into a love triangle between an American Chess Star and a Russian Champion. Who will she choose? Eric Carle: Moonlit Nights and Other Illustrations | The Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk | Ongoing

Eric Carle's unique style of works uses handpainted tissue paper which highlights bugs and nighttime scenes. There are selections from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Draw Me a Star, and more! The event is free and open to the public – see it here!

Grooving by the Bay | Buckroe Beach, Hampton | Sunday

Norfolk Tides vs. Charlotte Knights | Harbor Park, Norfolk | Friday-Sunday

Sandstock – A Tribute to Rock & Roll | Virginia Beach Oceanfront | Friday-Sunday

Do you love the beach? Do you love rock and roll? Well, check out this tribute to the rock 'n' roll genre! Jam out as these tribute bands cover songs from The Who, Van Halen, and other favorites! This is the Oceanfront's version of Woodstock, so you won't want to miss this! Learn more here!

ZooGrooves | The Virginia Zoo, Norfolk | Friday

Rock out with the animals to The Deloreans, along with other locals! Be sure to bring a blanket and some lawn chairs! Explore the Trail of the Tiger and World of Reptiles exhibit as they will be open after hours. Refreshments, beer, wine, and soft drinks will be available for purchase, so you won't have to plan to eat a meal beforehand! Tickets to the event are $4 for members and $10 for non-members! C.S Lewis's The Screwtape Letters | Carpenter Theatre | Saturday

DJ Williams and Friends | The Broadberry | Saturday

La Belle Époque: French Design in Maymont's Gilded Age Mansion | Maymont | Ongoing

Celebrate the French art of the 19th century with chosen pieces from the Gilded Age Mansion of James and Sallie Dooley. You will see pieces were chosen from clothing, tapestries (Don Quixote), decor, furniture, and more! Discover what the late 1800s had in store, including the dining experience! "Liberty or Death" Reenactments | St. John's Church | Sunday
