Art Speed Dating will take place this Friday night -- allowing you to both engage with local art and art lovers in the community. WHEN: Friday, February 23, 2018 | 7 to 9 p.m. WHERE: Bossa Bistro and Lounge (also a great place for Brazilian food, drinks, live music, and dancing) in Adams Morgan | 2463 18th Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20009 COST: $16 a person. DETAILS: Art Speed Dating takes all the pressure of meeting a new person on a “speed date,” as your date is technically with the art. GoARTful hosts an Art Speed Dating event every month, as well as a variety of other art events to encourage more appreciation towards art in the city. At the event, you’ll be paired with a piece of art and another person to discuss it with. This person could be an artist, a curator, an expert, or a total novice who’s interested in learning. The key is that in “front of a piece of art, you’ll be provoked to think about the art in front of you, or what art means to you, or anything else you like.” If you really fall in love with a work of art, you’ll be able to purchase on-site. And if you vibe with a potential new friend, keep the party going with drinks after, or invite them to lunch next week.
