Live out your Viking dreams at the Scandinavian Midsummer Festival from June 21-23 in Estes Park. Here's your guide to make the most of it!
Estes Park, Colorado, has been home to the Scandinavian Midsummer Festival for over 25 years. It's a celebration of all things Scadinavian, with tradtional food, artists, and events all weekend. Friday night from 4-8 p.m. is a preview to start off the weekend activities, with a Festival Preview and Beer Garden. Saturday starts off with a traditional Maypole ceremony, and kicks off the all-day celebrations. Sunday is all about "Sausages and Saabs," and brings the festival to an end at 4 p.m.
"For over 25 years the midsummer festival has called Estes Park home, perhaps it is because it shares many of the same characteristics of Scandinavian life; a vibrant community, mountains, water, trees, and wildlife surround the festival," states the Estes Midsummer Festival.
The festival runs from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 23.
