'Tis the season to binge on scary movies (and candy), and we've rounded up our favorites for your next horror movie marathon. If you have access to Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video, you can watch as many of these as you want for free. So turn off the lights, grab some snacks, and prepare to scream.

Carrie (1976)

This classic Stephen King adaptation turns the horror of high school bullying into a bloody nightmare. After being humiliated at the prom, Carrie White's telekinetic powers unleash a terrifying series of events. Critics regularly cite this horror movie as one of the best, so it's definitely a must-see. 

Murder Party (2007)

In this hilarious horror comedy flick, a man finds an invitation to a Halloween party, only to find that the hosts have murderous intentions. It's packed with dark humor and a good amount of gore as well. 

The Invitation (2015)

This slow-building thriller takes place at a dinner party hosted by the main character's ex-wife and her new husband. Anxiety turns to horror when he realizes what's in store for the guests. It's an incredibly inventive, surprising, and bone-chilling film. 

It Follows (2014)

In this terrifying film, a teenager contracts a deadly curse through sexual intercourse. A ghastly assassin follows her constantly, and the heart-racing pursuit is bound to both frighten and delight horror fans. 

Night of the Living Dead (1968)

Where to stream: Amazon Prime

This black-and-white classic zombie movie is a suspenseful, post-apocalyptic nightmare that was unusually gory for its time. This is a must-see for zombie fans, as it set a precedent for other movies in the genre. 

Oculus (2013)

Where to stream: Netflix

This underrated supernatural horror flick will make you jump out of your skin repeatedly. An antique mirror is a supernatural villain that poisons the minds of the characters as they struggle to uncover the truth behind its magic. 

The Others (2001)

Where to stream: Hulu

Nicole Kidman stars in this twist on a classic haunted house story. Set during World War II, this movie chronicles the lives of a religious mother and her two ill children as visions of phantoms begin to terrorize them. 

The Shining (1980)

Where to stream: Netflix

Stanley Kubrick's iconic film follows a hotel caretaker (Jack Nicholson) who evolves into a homicidal monster and attacks his wife and children. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

The Witch (2015)

Where to stream: Netflix

Set in 1630 New England, this film tells the tale of a religious family that suspects the eldest daughter of engaging in witchcraft. This creepy art house flick is a mind-bending, visual masterpiece. 

The Sixth Sense (1999)

Where to stream: Netflix

"I see dead people," says young star Haley Joel Osment in this supernatural horror classic. The boy confides in his psychologist (Bruce Willis) who works past his disbelief to discover the truth about the boy's unique abilities. 

Paranormal Activity (2007)

Where to stream: Amazon Prime, Hulu

This new take on the found footage genre follows a young couple who suspect an evil presence has followed them to their new home. A home video camera captures the evidence. 

Let the Right One In (2008)

This Swedish flick about a young vampire girl is far superior to the American remake. It's as sweet as it is spooky, developing the friendship between two children as they navigate their supernatural world.
