These amazing scenes show that bathrooms are not just a place of business. Instead, they can flush you right into the middle of memorable movie magic.

Hollywood has created some magnificent moments over the years and not all of these scenes took place in the most glorious of places. Some of the best movie scenes occurred in the most unlikely place – the bathroom.

Through movie magic and some great plumbing skills, these bathrooms were transformed to create some of the funniest, scariest, and most romantic scenes in cinematic history. So, get ready to flush out the competition, because here are some of the most iconic bathroom scenes in your favorite films.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Most of us do our best thinking in the bathroom, and boy wonder Harry Potter is no different. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry heads to the prefect’s bathroom to solve the clue for the second task. After an awkward and hilarious exchange with Moaning Myrtle, Potter dips a golden egg under his bathwater and hears the song of the merpeople. Not only was this an interesting scene in the film, but it also made Hogwarts that much more appealing. It showed Potter fans that even the bathrooms in the school are absolutely magical.

Pretty Woman

Edward Lewis needs a date for his business meetings and he surprisingly finds the answer in the bathroom. The vision of Vivian singing in the luxurious pink bathtub pierces his heart and launches one of the most iconic romances of cinematic history. Vivian wasn’t the only vision of beauty in this scene though—the bathroom is absolutely magnificent.

Halloween

From the iconic shower scene in Psycho to the “Here’s Johnny” scene in The Shining, bathrooms have become a staple in horror films. We’re our most vulnerable when we’re in the bathroom, so it only makes sense that scary movies exploit our darkest fears of the stool pool.

One of the best and most recent bathroom horror scenes appeared in Halloween (2007) when Michael Myers simply puts his feet in front of the stall to terrorize and ultimately murder Joe Grizzly. The scene made such a lasting impression that it was even brought back in Halloween (2018).

The Godfather

The Godfather is, hands down, one of the most iconic movies in cinematic history. However, if you take a moment to look back on the film, you may have noticed that the director, Francis Ford Coppola, shot a lot of scenes in the bathroom. One of the most crucial scenes is when Michael Corleone, played by Al Pacino, excuses himself to go to the bathroom in an Italian restaurant. In the bathroom, he finds a revolver hidden behind the toilet tank which he then uses to avenge his father.

Austin Powers

Austin Powers finds himself in a lot of bathroom fights. One of the most memorable scenes is in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery when the spy gets attacked while using the bathroom, and the man in the next stall simply equates the sounds to normal, everyday bathroom noises.

We also see Austin Powers visit a bathroom again in Austin Powers: Goldmember, when he and Foxy Cleopatra hilariously fight Fat Bastard in a traditional Japanese onsen.

So, if you’re looking to laugh out loud, find the love of your life, or do some hardcore thinking, be sure to keep your bathrooms in tiptop shape. For those of you in the Denver Metro Area, you can count on Done Plumbing & Heating to do the job for you and help transform your plumbing into movie magic.
