Celebrate Star Wars' Life Day for the holidays!

Lucasfilms and LEGO teamed up to bring us The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special on Disney+, premiering Tuesday, November 17. The holiday special is a nod to an older Star Wars Holiday Special that premiered on CBS back on November 17, 1978, introducing the concept of "Life Day" (a Star Wars holiday). Many Star Wars fans consider it to be one of the worst parts of the Star Wars legacy, but we're hoping this LEGO rendition will bring us the humor we need in 2020!

This LEGO rendition will star some of our favorite characters, including Finn, Poe Dameron, Rey, and BB-8 as the gang gets back together after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker takes place. Rey goes on a journey to learn more about the Force, visiting a Jedi Temple that sends her on a journey through time. Rey and friends try to get back to Chewbacca's hometown in time to celebrate Life Day. Along the way, we'll get to see guest appearances from the original crew, including Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Emporer Palpatine, to name a few!  Executive Producer Josh Rimes says the holiday special draws inspiration from It's a Wonderful Life; Planes, Trains, and Automobiles; Christmas Vacation; and Burl Ives' musical style.
