Fall in love with the March family all over again in the 2019 remake of "Little Women."
The sheer star power of the cast is reason enough to get your tickets for this newest version of Louisa May Alcott's timeless novel, Little Women. Check out the official trailer, courtesy of Sony Pictures Entertainment:
Where do I even begin ... Casting Meryl Streep as the unflinching Aunt March is utter genius. While Saoirse Ronan looks wonderful as a militantly feminist Jo, the expanded role of Amy, played by Florence Pugh, looks incredible. There's a fire there that is a stark contrast to Emma Watson's cool, domestic Meg and Laura Dern's smiling portrayal of Marmee.
My heart is mush. Adored #LittleWomen so so much. If it weren't so late on the east coast right now, I'd be calling my sister. A contender for favorite of the year? Could be. *Lots* to love about this one but ohhh boy is Florence Pugh a scene stealer. pic.twitter.com/jubPC5leZP— Perri Nemiroff (@PNemiroff) November 19, 2019
Everything about this version seems bigger than the 1994 film that starred Susan Sarandon, Winona Ryder, and a baby-faced Kirsten Dunst. The soundtrack, the love story, and even the sets and costumes are simply stunning.
When I was growing up (you know, when dinosaurs roamed the earth), Little Women was the book that girls would read over and over again. My fervent hope is that this new, refreshed version inspires kids everywhere to get lost in the pages of this classic novel.
