Fans of the classic Disney film will have to pay a hefty price for the live-action version of "Mulan."
To watch the new live-action film version of Mulan, it'll cost you $29.95, on top of the Disney+ subscription fee. This bold move by the streaming platform will undoubtedly be a big money-maker at a time when people are hesitant to return to movie theaters. In the U.S., the film will also have an extremely limited run in select locations, but the bulk of its earnings will come from this direct-to-video promotion.
While some in the industry see this as a blow to the nation's movie theaters as a whole, the film's release has been postponed since its original March 27 debut date.

Needless to say, the Twitter-verse has some pretty strong feelings about all of this.
No VOD release should cost more than New York City's IMAX prices. #Mulan pic.twitter.com/fGL7PHh8mJ

Meanwhile, some parents aren't balking at the hefty price tag. After all, you can watch the movie as many times as you want as long as you maintain your Disney+ subscription.
Who voted no? Definitely not parents with kids. Hell its cheaper than going to the movies with or without snacks so yeah, count me in! #Mulan #DisneyPlus https://t.co/DIS9q2iY9s
