After Lifetime aired Chris Watts: Confessions of a Killer, Netflix has released its own documentary of the disturbing story. American Murder: The Family Next Door is now available, only on Netflix.
Netflix describes the documentary as using "raw, firsthand footage, this documentary examines the disappearance of Shanann Watts and her children, and the terrible events that followed."
Denver's own 9News reported a chilling video in 2019 of Chris Watts describing the murders in his own words. Chris Watts was arrested on August 15, 2018. On November 6, he pled guilty on all of the charges against him in efforts to avoid the death penalty. He is currently serving a life sentence in prison, without the possibility of parole.
