Here are the best hamburgers Baltimore has to offer.

Is there anything better than a juicy burger? You've got your Five Guys, your Shake Shacks, your Fuddruckers -- all good options for when that familiar craving hits. But living in Baltimore means you're surrounded by a wealth of local joints, with creative menus and unbeatable prices. So skip the chains and sink your teeth into any one of these delicious burgers, no regret necessary.

A common resolution for the new year is to try new things. We reckon you've seen bison or lamb on a burger menu, but what about ostrich or alligator? Maybe kangaroo? Abbey Burger Bistro adds a far-out twist to the usual pub dining experience with their adventurous meats and beer offerings. Burger aficionados should take heed and try the Simply AJ10, named after Adam Jones of Orioles fame (and the sandwich's creator!).

It comes with Kobe beef, pepper jack, avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and chili pepper mayo topped on an English muffin with tater tots and nacho cheese on the side. As if this unconventional burger weren't enough, $1 from each burger also goes to Adam Jones' charity. Check out Abbey Burger Bistro's full menu here.

Who would have thought that one of the best burgers in Baltimore would be Canadian-inspired? This friendly restaurant brings "northern hospitality," to Fells Point and Belvedere Square, melding the concept of burgers and poutine together in glorious, gravy-soaked harmony.

Order a side of poutine fries to go with any of their signature burgers, or try "The Full Mountie" for the best of both worlds -- rich cheese curds and gravy atop a 100-percent certified Angus beef burger patty and toasted brioche bun. You'll have forgotten all about lettuce and mayo by the time you finish that bad boy. Check out their full menu here.

Kooper's Tavern

Named after the establishment's prized yellow lab, Kooper's Tavern is all about making a good burger. Their signature burger menu has something for everyone, balancing classic fixings with more experimental flair, like truffle arugula or blue cheese.

We recommend meeting in the middle and trying their Elvis Got the Blues burger -- a Black Angus burger topped with Applewood smoked bacon and crumbled blue cheese. If that doesn't do it for you, they also offer Kooper's BYOB, AKA Build-Your-Own-Burger, to create the burger of your dreams. All burgers come with a side of your choice, including sweet potato fries, Old Bay chips, side salad, and more. Check out their full menu here.
