Grand Cata, Latin Wine Shop
This wine shop opened its doors in 2016, but the vision of a Latin-American hub developed by co-founders Julio Robledo and Pedro Rodriguez goes all the way back to 2011. Their vibrant selection of sustainable wines hails from Latin America, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. In addition to wine, they also carry a wide variety of craft beers, spirits, and cupboard staples like sauces and spices. Swing by their shop for one of their daily tastings or catas (from the Spanish verb catar, or to taste) and you may find yourself bringing a bottle home.
For wine enthusiasts wanting an educational component, the shop provides two wine classes offering different experiences. One is a "sip n' mingle" where guests can move about while they taste the wines. The other has a more formal, sit-down approach. Whichever you choose, you'll gain more appreciation for the wines you're tasting, and the part of the world they come from. If you like what you taste, sign up for their wine membership to receive two wines a month, access to release parties, and exclusive deals. Click here for more information.
