Celebrate the fact that 2021 is almost over!

Are you as excited for 2022 as we are? To celebrate, here are five New Year's drinks you should bring out once the clock strikes midnight! (But let's be honest, we've been drinking all year!)

Finish off the holiday season right with this zinger of a mimosa for your New Year's party (and use up those leftover candy canes)!

Ingredients (Serves 6):

  • 6 ounces of peppermint schnapps divided
  • 1 bottle of champagne or prosecco
  • 1/4 cup of melted, semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 crushed candy canes
  • 6 whole candy canes

Directions:

  1. First, put the melted chocolate chips on a small plate, and pour crushed candy canes onto a separate plate.
  2. Then, dip your champagne flute rims into the chocolate and crushed candy canes to coat the top.
  3. Finally, add an ounce of the peppermint schnapps, then top off with champagne or prosecco, and garnish with full candy canes to finish it off.

Now, before you think we're crazy, rest assured that this drink has nothing to do with the actual medicine!

Ingredients (Serves 4):

  • 8 ounces of blended Scotch
  • 6 ounces of fresh lemon juice
  • 4 pieces of candied ginger
  • 1 4-ounce piece of ginger that's scrubbed and thinly sliced crosswise
  • 2/3 cup of honey
  • 1 ounce of single malt Scotch (optional)

Directions:

  1. Use a medium saucepan to bring the honey, sliced ginger, and 5 cups of water to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Next, reduce the heat and cook at a bare simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until the honey dissolves.
  3. After that, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a measuring glass or medium-sized bowl, and throw away the solids leftover.
  4. Then, pour the honey mixture back into the saucepan and add the Scotch, lemon juice, and/or single malt Scotch, to heat on medium-low until the mixture is hot, but not boiling.
  5. Once you've finished cooking the mixture, divide it into cups and garnish each one with a piece of candied ginger.
