Sad news: D.C. fast-casual hoagie chain Taylor Gourmet has announced it will close all 17 of its D.C. locations this weekend.

If you're a fan of Taylor Gourmet, you're out of luck. The fast-growing hoagie-specializing restaurant chain has announced that all 17 of its D.C. locations, as well as two Chicago locations, will close by Sunday.

The company had announced just two weeks ago that it was looking to scale down its growth, focusing on smaller restaurants (a "skinny-down" approach) and close three existing locations. But this permanent move on Taylor's part is drastic and shocking to many.

The D.C.-based chain first arrived on the scene in 2008 and, according to Washington Business Journal, had at one time been the eighth-largest restaurant chain based in the area.

It is expected that the chain will file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, though no moves have been made in that direction as of yet.
