The beer will be available starting July 26!
Since the mass shooting that the city of Virginia Beach endured at the end of May, local businesses and residents have been working together to raise money for the victims' families through the United Way Virginia Beach Tragedy Fund. The latest business, Commonwealth Brewing, created "LoveStrong IPA," a beer dedicated to the shooting victims. The new IPA will release on July 26 in Commonwealth's taproom, and then Commonwealth Brewing plans to donate 100 percent of the profits to the United Way Virginia Beach Tragedy Fund!
“Creating LoveStrong is our brewery family’s way of supporting the families of the victims and helping cultivate love and healing in our community,” noted Jeramy Biggie, Owner and Head Brewer. “The name is a true reflection of the people of Virginia Beach and the outpouring of love and support provided for those impacted by this tragedy."
We agree! This is a great way to spread some love and begin the healing process. Victims' families and area residents can gather in a local joint to share their stories of the victims' lives while sharing a delicious beer.
The IPA will premiere in the Commonwealth Brewing taproom on Friday, July 26, during a small event that will feature live music, food, and delicious desserts. Shortly after its debut, the IPA will be released to local retailers around Virginia Beach and Norfolk who also plan to donate a portion of their profits to the victims' families!
