Move over, Salted Caramel ...

As if we needed another reason to tempt us down the ice cream aisle, Häagen-Dazs recently announced seven new ice cream flavors inspired by fine spirits. So move over, Salted Caramel. I'll never forget you, Cookies and Cream ... Häagen-Dazs’ Spirit Collection is making its move for our new favorite with craving-worthy combinations of Irish Cream Brownie, Rum Tres Leches, Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle, Stout Chocolate Pretzel Crunch, and Bourbon Praline Pecan.

More of an ice cream sandwich fan? Their Irish Cream cookies squares made with a crunchy chocolate cookie, spirit-infused ice cream, and covered in rich dark chocolate will put whatever else you have in the freezer to shame.

Dairy-free folks, don’t despair. Their non-dairy option Amaretto Black Cherry Almond Toffee sounds so darn good it may convert non-believers.

As much as these may seem like a more efficient way to eat while drowning one’s sorrows, the 0.5 percent alcohol content won’t do it. However, these do offer a serious upgrade to your freezer ice cream game with flavor combos more commonly reserved for restaurant dessert menus.

I was only able to get my hands on the Bourbon Praline Pecan. And just like your first sip of bourbon the alcohol hits the most in the first taste (in a good way), before smoothing out with each creamy spoonful. The chunks of praline are a touch sweet for my liking, but it does well in its decadence and delivers the flavor promised in its name.

Of course, a full taste test investigation will need to be conducted when all the flavors are come available in Häagen-Dazs shops in March and in grocery stores by April. See y'all in the ice cream aisle!
