Deck the halls with the smell of fried chicken, fa-la-la-la-la la-la-la-laaaaa!
Christmas smells like fried chicken. In strangely compelling news, KFC has released a limited-edition firelog just in time for the holidays. While some are questioning the validity of this stunt, so far, all signs point to this being for real. Each log was "imbued with the unmistakable mouthwatering aroma of Colonel Sanders' secret recipe," says KFC's website. In other words, it's going to smell a whole lot like fried chicken up in here.
Mind. Blown. The chain might have just outdone its last mind-boggling creation, the Double Down Sandwich.
Made in conjunction with Enviro-Log, the item is made of 100-percent recycled materials and was made after countless hours of research.
"The KFC 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog from Enviro-Log is dramatically less wasteful and significantly more effective at making your home smell like fried chicken than burning actual fried chicken," says KFC.
So, while the actual fried chicken could clog your arteries, this log is less likely to clog your chimney.
Each log weighs five pounds and can burn up to 2.5-three hours. The chain warns that it may attract bears and hungry neighbors, or result in a craving for fried chicken. Moreover, KFC warns, you shouldn't put your face in the fire to attempt to smell what the log is cooking.
Alas, the 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog proved to be so popular that it sold out its current inventory after just a few hours. No word yet on whether it will have more logs to sell soon, but if you are a true fried-chicken fiend, check back on the website frequently to see if you can get your hands on this aromatic treasure.
"Pick up a log firelog today, and you'll be wondering how you were ever able to enjoy a fire that didn't smell like fried chicken," says the site.
