Where you get your hair cut is important. The experience and the cut itself need to be worth coming back to, again and again.

Here are three of our favorite Washington, D.C., hair salons that offer a variety of options, based on your needs and budget.

Logan 14 Aveda Spa

1314 14th St. NW, Washington, D.C., 20005

This salon is conveniently located on 14th Street NW in Logan Circle, and they offer a variety of services -- from women’s and men’s haircuts to coloring, to just a blow dry. Whether you're coming in for your regular monthly hair appointment or you need to prepare for a special event, Logan 14 Aveda Spa has the resources and the stylists that will make sure you have the best experience. Also, if you want a high-quality cut, but you don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it, ask to be put with a new stylist. They’ll likely do just as good of a job, but you could get a haircut for almost $30 less.

Immortal Beloved

1831 14th St. NW, Washington, D.C., 20009

Immortal Beloved is also easily accessible on 14th Street NW, but closer to the U Street Corridor. They are also a full-service salon doing everything from professional haircuts to coloring. Here, you would pick the level of stylist that you’re most comfortable with, and choices range from a junior stylist (basically one in training) to icon stylist (a stylist for celebrities for the rich and famous). Price ranges depend on what kind you choose.

Luna’s Hair Design

2033 P Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20036

Located in Dupont Circle in D.C., Luna’s Hair Design is so much more than just a hair salon. It was named one of the top salons, and several stylists who work there have been named top stylists by Washingtonian Magazine. It’s a great place to go for a quality haircut at an affordable rate. They are also really convenient for walk-ins and helping coach you to some creative inspiration if you aren't quite sure what look you want.
