Soar through the air, surf on land, or kick some butt, all while building strength and endurance.

There are plenty of ways to get a free workout around Denver, whether you enjoy hiking, biking, climbing, or running. But sometimes, we get bored with our typical fitness routines, and it takes something brand new to motivate us. So if you're tired of getting your cardio on the treadmill or lifting to build strength, check out one of these unique fitness classes in and around Denver.

Dance up a sweat at Block21

Feel like you're busting out moves in a club and get a great workout at the same time with Block21's dance-based workouts. These 50-minute, high-energy classes combine strength training with hip-hop cardio intervals for a workout that's tons of fun. The best part is, you don't need any dance experience to learn the moves -- the instructors break down the steps so you can follow along. A drop-in class is just $15, or get an intro three-class pack for $20.

Swing from an aerial hammock at AIR Fitness

Build muscle while you balance in an aerial hammock. Shape Magazine called it "one of the best ab workouts around," and these 30- and 50-minute classes also help you gain better alignment. The program combines elements of Pilates, conditioning, and high-intensity interval training. They have classes for multiple levels as well as a yoga-inspired class. The cost is $30 per class.
