We all could use a little health.

When we look at the lives of the rich and famous, or just people in general, it's easy to overlook the fact that they also face their own set of health challenges. Even younger people, who show no symptoms and appear perfectly well in their Instagram lives, could be facing a serious life-changing health challenge. That's the case for these seven celebrities who've needed an organ transplant at some point in their lives.  

1. Sarah Hyland

For most of her life, Hyland has battled kidney dysplasia – a condition that affects 1 in 4,000 people while in the womb. Those with this condition may require a transplant later on in life, and in April of 2012, that's what happened to this Modern Family star. Her father donated the kidney. 

2. Tracy Morgan

In 2010, after suffering from complications from diabetes, the comedian needed a kidney. Tanisha Hall – his now ex-girlfriend – answered the call and donated one of hers. During the 2011 Screen Actors Guild awards, he publicly thanked her. 

3. Selena Gomez

Actress and singer Selena Gomez has battled Lupus – a common autoimmune disease that can affect the body's internal organs – for some time, and in 2017 she announced that she got a kidney from her friend Francia Raisa. 

4. Andrea De Cruz

Andrea De Cruz

The Singaporean actress suffered severe liver damage after falling victim to the Slim 10 diet pill scandal. Her then boyfriend, actor Pierre Png, donated half of his liver to save her life. 

5. George Lopez

George Lopez

In 2005, due to a rare genetic kidney disease, the comedian needed a kidney, which he received from his wife at the time. 

6. Gary Coleman

Gary Coleman

Best known for his role on Diff'rent Strokes, Gary Coleman had his fair share of health challenges, and over the course of his life, he had two kidney transplants. 

7. Evel Knievel 

Evel Knievel 

Evel Knievel and death have almost met many times, but one of his closest encounters was in 1999 when he nearly died of hepatitis C. He quickly got a liver transplant that saved his life. It's also suspected that he got the disease from a blood transfusion after a crash.
