So. Much. Cuteness.

Just as the sky is blue, it's a well-known fact of life that dogs love tennis balls. Some dogs are obsessive, others are simply playful. For Finley, a 6-year-old golden retriever, his love of tennis balls is record-breaking.

Finley lives in Canandaigua, New York, with his human family and is a bit of an Instagram star (@finnyboymolloy), with more than 37,000 followers on the platform. His owners shared the news of the record being broken on Instagram. They even had a little party to celebrate, complete with a custom cake!

This is just the kind of news we need to hear right now, and the Molloy family is happy to share the joy Finley brings to them with the world.

"It's lifting people's spirits more than we had ever expected or hoped for, which is really fulfilling. And it's really rewarding knowing that something as simple as a good boy is making people smile all over the world," Erin Molloy, Finley's owner, told USA Today

The previous record-holder, Auggie, a dog from Texas, held the record at five. Erin and her parents, Cherie and Rob, started an exceptionally long and intense process to see if Finley could break that record.

The family took a ton of pictures of Finley, hoping to document enough evidence to prove that he could best the standing record. This was no small matter, as Erin had to submit proof, including witness statements, to show that Finely could actually hold six tennis balls in his mouth. It took almost a year, but the Molloy family was successful, and Finley was crowned a Guinness World Record holder.

Good boy, Finley!
