Why Have Reindeer When Your Could Have Horsepower?

Everybody has their own way to get into the holiday spirit. For some, that means tacky sweaters, eggnog, and candy. For others, that means building a 727-horsepower Hemi-powered sleigh. At least, that's what Dodge had in mind.

Just this month, Dodge unveiled its Challenger Hellcat Redeye-based creation as part of its new holiday ad campaign. The sleigh, from what we can tell, features two body-length skis, no roof, and, in lieu of front wheels, side pipes.

So much for Santa keeping a low-profile, but hey, if you had the choice between nine reindeer and 727 horses, what would you do?

Rumor has it that unlike other automakers, like Lexus and Mercedes-Benz who have also rendered sleigh-like Santamobiles, Dodge decided to actually build the thing for real.

Now, we're not sure how the sleigh actually gets power to the ground, but we're bound to find out. The holiday-themed Dodge is expected to be the focal point of all of Dodge's advertising through December – that, and professional wrestler Bill Goldberg who will be playing Santa in the new ads.

So stay tuned, as far as ads go, these might be some of the most interesting all season. Here's a sneak preview of what's to come:
