Meet Squirt, a 3 pound Dachshund/Rat Terrier mix from The Dumb Friends League.

The Dumb Friends League after three of their puppies were chosen to participate in 2016. The shelter submitted four puppies this year, and it was Squirt who stole the show. The 12-week-old puppy will be representing Denver in this year’s Puppy Bowl XIII, the popular counter-programming show to the Super Bowl. His bio reads:
Small, but agile. Tiny, but bold. Squirt’s unique set of skills caught the eye of Puppy Bowl XIII recruiters. With an aptitude for being adorable, this small puppy impressed recruiters with his petite size and passions for fetching and snuggling. Squirt’s Puppy Bowl XIII debut comes after training for weeks in a Dumb Friends League foster home. There, he mastered his “awww-factor” skills, charming men and women alike. When asked what life after the Puppy Bowl looked like, Squirt commented that he was “looking forward to spending plenty of time cuddled-up with his new forever family.”
Squirt is one of 78 puppies from across the U.S. chosen to participate in the event, but our little man was one of few to make the starting lineup. He’s gained recognition from the likes of Buzzfeed, People, and more. Atta boy, Squirt - make us proud!
Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XIII is set to air on Sunday, February 5 from 1-3 p.m. (Mountain Time), and will repeat throughout the day and into the night.
Squirt has already found a home, but The Dumb Friends League will be partnering with the Denver International Airport to bring you their second live Puppy Bowl, featuring 6-8 puppies in need of a home.
