Let's face it -- New Year's resolutions are more of an exercise in good intentions than anything else. Why not make one that you're actually able to accomplish in the next 12 months?
Instead of joining a gym, what about aiming for at least three 20-minute workouts a week? Here are some great basic videos from dynamic YouTubers who are fun and encouraging. Try working out at home before splurging on a full gym membership!
Yoga with Adriene
The coolest thing about Adriene is that she runs you through variations of each yoga pose. She encourages you throughout the entire video, and you'll feel like you're in an individual instruction session! Try her 20-minute video for complete beginners and see how you like it -- there's a reason why she has over four million subscribers!

Zumba with Sid Vicious
Zumba is so much fun that you won't feel like you're exercising. Sort through your favorite instructor's videos and come up with at least 20-30 minutes' worth of routines. Do whatever you have time for, and don't worry if you feel uncoordinated. This is one of my favorite of Sid's videos; it's nice and easy for beginners!

Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone
When you don't feel like walking outside, or if you just need some encouragement, check out this basic Leslie Sansone video. By the end of it, you'll have walked a brisk mile. This is a great place to start if you are a true beginner.

Beginner Dumbbell Workouts with Gymra
I really like how simple the script is in this one. The instructor is not overly chatty and just tells you how many reps or seconds you've got left. For a beginner video, it's also nice to see someone working out with light weights, even though she could clearly lift more. The Gymra YouTube channel has a wide variety of workouts and instructors -- check it out!

Whatever you decide to try, best of luck for a happy, healthier 2019!
