Recent reports find that Denver residents actually pay more money to live in the suburbs than they do in the city.

Whether you are a city sleeker or a true suburbanite at heart, we can all agree that Denver real estate is expensive. The Denver Metro area is one of the most popular housing markets in the country, leaving Denver residents with no choice but to spend big bucks. According to Zillow, on average people spend about $9,000 more to live in the city. The Denver Metro area is the exception to this finding. Homes in the Denver Metro area are more sought after and therefore more expensive. According to Aurora resident Nicole Leininger,
I think people spend more to live in the suburbs because it’s all about the kids and families to have the pools, the rec centers, here there’s more space. In town it’s just building after building after building."
Denver residents Zillow and Care.com found that childcare costs, mortgage payments, and property taxes lead to people paying about $300 more a month to live in the Denver Metro area.  In total, that is an extra $3,600 every year.  Whether you are a true Denver resident or you reside in the suburbs, it can be agreed upon that Denver is one of the most beautiful places to live.
