Want to go on a pirate ship cruise? Before you say no, hear me out.

Washington, D.C., does offer a cruise, brought to you by Boomerang Cruises, that is literally on a pirate ship, with role-playing and all. You can’t say you’re not a little bit curious, right?

The Boomerang Pirate Ship is a cruise unlike any other along the Potomac River. There are two options for you to choose from depending on the kind of experience you’re looking for: the adult cruise and the family-friendly treasure hunt cruise (though with mention of a treasure hunt, however fake, I feel that could be equally as much fun for adults).

For the adult cruise, the ship sails at sunset and you’ll get the opportunity to see all the Washington, D.C., sights from the water. Afterward, head to the bottom deck to rock out on the dance floor. Of course, there will be a bar for a much-needed drink after all that dancing (or before). You’ll be on the boat for two house, so be prepared!. All employees on the ship will be adorned in pirate gear, and you might even start feeling like a pirate yourself.

The treasure hunt cruise has woven together a story of stolen treasure that the ship needs your help finding. You’ll sail the seas (well, the Potomac River around Washington, D.C., anyway) to find it and defend yourself against the bad guys.

Each of the two experiences is different, but I think so fun! You can read more details about each cruise here. Prices range from $20 to $30 depending on which type you choose.

And if you’re looking for something a little more traditional, check out these three cruises or this water taxi, all traveling along the Potomac River as well.

What do you think about going on a pirate cruise? If you’ve been on one, tell us about your experience in the comments!
