The Best Places for Dancing in Denver

Sometimes, you just need to go out, dance, and have fun. Here are the best places for dancing in Denver!

Mercury Cafe

Dancing in Denver The Mercury Cafe offers traditional swing dancing on Sundays, west coast swing on Wednesdays, blues dancing on Tuesdays (how do you dance to the blues?! Must see), and tango on Fridays! Each of these nights offers a beginners class an hour before the dancing really starts, so don’t be shy if you’ve never done it before. A fee of $3-$10, depending on the night, gets you into the lesson and the dancing afterwards. The Sunday night swing events are my personal favorite here, because the dancing is accompanied by a live (and amazing) band. The regulars are welcoming and always willing to help the beginners out, making this a guaranteed enjoyable night of dancing in Denver.

Beta Nightclub

Dancing in Denver If you prefer a lively nightclub scene to the more laid back swing dancing at Mercury, then you’ll definitely want to check out Beta Nightclub. This one is a favorite among EDM fans in Denver, and many say it has the best sound system they’ve ever heard. Cost varies depending on the night, but pre-sale tickets generally start at $10. If you’re looking for somewhere to get fully lost in the music, this is definitely the best dancing in Denver for you.

Grizzly Rose

Dancing in Denver This is the premiere spot for country dancing in Denver. They also have weekly specials that you’ll definitely want to take advantage of! Draft beer is $1 on Tuesdays, there’s a free dance class every Wednesday, ladies drink free draft beer and well drinks after 8PM on Thursday. Major bands play every Friday, and Sunday is family night! No matter what you’re looking for, the Grizzly Rose has it! They also offer various dance lessons throughout the week - check out their website for more information.

La Rumba

Dancing in Denver If Latin dancing in Denver appeals more to you, then you’ll definitely want to check out La Rumba. It’s been going strong since 1997 and has a great club atmosphere with great bartenders, nationally-recognized DJs, and only the best salsa bands around. Start the weekend early with salsa on Thursday nights, then keep it going with Latin Fridays, featuring Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton and more. Live salsa bands keep the party all Saturday night! They also offer lessons on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Check out their website for more information.

Turnverein

Dancing in Denver If you’re looking strictly for lessons on 6 different types of dancing, then Turnverein is the spot for you. On Sunday, they offer West Coast Swing lessons. On Monday, the class is all about Ballroom Dancing, on Tuesdays they focus on Argentine Tango, and on Wednesday they turn to Salsa. Thursdays are all about Country, and Fridays are for the Lindy Hop. No matter what you’re looking for, this spot will have a lesson for you! Improve your skills, then go show off at one of the other clubs listed here! Dancing is a great exercise, a fun activity, and just generally a good way to meet people and have fun. Don’t be shy - everyone has to start somewhere! Just get out there and have a good time - you’ll be swinging, shaking, shimmying, and hopping with the best of them before you know it.

If you prefer staying in with a good book to going out dancing, then you’ll definitely want to check out the best new releases of 2016!
