Ever seen a dog with a nose 12 inches long?!
Eris, a 2-year-old large-nosed borzoi from Virginia, is thought to have the longest dog nose ever. I mean ... 12 inches?! Just look at the pictures for proof!
Adopted by jewelry store owner Lily Kambourian and her partner Savannah on July 23, 2018, Eris just celebrated her second birthday in May. She is named after the Greek goddess of strife and discord and is often jokingly referred to as "Madam Eris Overbite, Queen of Snoots." Being a borzoi, she is classified as a wolfhound in Russia, where the name of her breed translates to "fast."
People frequently stop the Virginia couple to inquire more about Eris and her immensely long nose.
"We get stopped a lot when we are walking Eris because most people are trying to figure out what breed she is, but we've started finding paths through the neighborhood where we can actually get a walk done," said Lily.
"Eris was born to a litter of three in Keysville, Virginia," continued Lily. "When we went to go visit the puppies, it was apparent they might have an overbite."
Lily constantly posts pictures of Eris onto her Instagram page, showing Eris playing in their garden or posing with dandelions in her fur. So far, her social media platform has almost 200,000 followers!
Measured from nose to tail, Eris is four feet, nine inches long. And Measured from the front end to the back, her nose is officially 12.2 inches long!
Perhaps the longest dog nose does belong to her!
