Is your vehicle right for your lifestyle?
When you move to Colorado, you might notice that Coloradans' choices in cars are a little bit different than, say Chicago, where luxury sedans crawl the streets of downtown. Instead, we opt for cars with high ground clearance, all-wheel-drive or 4-wheel-drive, and vehicles that have a lot of room. Why? Well, it's not because we hate the environment – it's quite the opposite, actually. A proper Colorado car allows you to see all that this great state has to offer.
So with that said, here are some things to consider ...
Ground Clearance
Anyone who has driven to a trailhead knows that having a little bit of ground clearance is a must. Many crossovers, SUVs, and trucks offer enough to get you where you need to go, but if you're really serious about getting out there and you want to explore some our great state's 4x4 trails, you'll need something like this:

Four- or All-Wheel-Drive
As we wrote a while back, having four-wheel-drive isn't always necessary for winter driving, but it can be helpful when going off-road. Even dirt roads, if wet, can be enough to warrant the use of four- or all-wheel drive -- especially if you have a truck like this one:
