There are twin cats up for adoption!

Since school is almost out, now is a great time to head down to the shelter and get your son and or daughter a companion – having a pet teaches them responsibility! We've compiled a list of the cutest pets available in Maryland.

Check out this week's adorable options!

Maryland SPCA | Baltimore

The Maryland SPCA is a great organization that can be found at 3300 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD 21211 – contact them at 410-235-8826 if you have any questions about the pets. Check out their adoption policy here! And don't forget to check them out on Facebook!

Louie, 7

Louie Dog

This super playful and high-energy boy would do best in an active home with older children. He has not lived with dogs in the past, so not much is known about how he is with other animals. Since he is an older dog, he is potty-trained and has good manners. Find him here!

Domi, 5

Looking for a guard animal? Search no further because Domi's waiting for you at the Maryland SPCA! He sits in the corner and observes the area he's in. And if he is interrupted during his mission, he will scurry off in a flash and hide. Domi is great with other cats and is waiting for you to come to get him here!

Animal Care Shelter for Kent County | Chestertown

The Animal Care Shelter is the local shelter for Chestertown, Maryland, and can be found at 10720 Augustine Herman Hwy, Chestertown, Maryland, 21620. Contact them at 410-778-3648 if you have any questions. Check out their adoption policy here!

Copper, 7

Copper Hound Dog

Courtesy of Animal Care Shelter for Kent County

As you can see, he is a very large boy who would do best in a home without any cats, young kids, or other dogs because he doesn't understand his size! Copper hates the kennel life, as it stresses him out, so he is looking for his new home as soon as possible. His happy place is the backyard, where he loves to sniff everything he can (he is a hound after all)! This love bug would do best in a home that is a mix of active and relaxed because he also loves snuggles and placing his head in your lap! Find him here!

Tony, 5

Courtesy of Animal Care Shelter for Kent County

Tony is not a shy guy and will spend his days exploring your home and checking out the neighbors (people-watching). Just a head's up: he has feline immunodeficiency virus or FIV and will need a family that can take care of him if he becomes sick! Learn more here!

Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center | Derwood

Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center is an amazing shelter that cares for homeless, abused, and neglected animals. You can find them at 7315 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood, MD 20855 -- you can call them at 240-773-5900 if you have any questions. Check out their adoption policy here, and check out their website and Facebook!

Oscar, 6

Although he is shy, Oscar really is sweet and opens up for the right person. Only 17 pounds, he has some problems with his heart and will require more medical expenses, so his adoption fee is waived. Oscar would do best in a home without any other animals. Find him here!

Sasha, young

Those eyes ... those bright yellow eyes! Sasha has a lot to say and will tell you her story and more when she goes home with you. She does have a history with urinary crystals, so she'll require a special diet. See her here!

Baltimore Humane Society | Baltimore

Found at 1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136, the Baltimore Humane Society strives to offer a temporary home or refuge for abandoned or unwanted pets! Call them at 410-833-8848 if you have any questions about their available animals. Check them out on Facebook and their website!

His smile speaks for itself – just look at his adorable scrunched-up face! He is a young and happy pup who is a fan of nerdy things, wagging his butt, meeting new people, and being an all-around great dog! Krypto is a little on the energetic side – don't skimp out on a daily walk. Meet him here!

Charlie and Tiger, 2

You'll be getting twice the love from these bonded brothers! Seriously, taking home two cats to entertain each other all day is the best decision you can make ... trust us! Their faces show how affectionate and sweet they both are. Find Charlie here and Tiger here!

SPCA of Anne Arundel County | Annapolis

The SPCA of Anne Arundel County is the local shelter for Annapolis, Maryland. Visit them at 1815 Bay Ridge Avenue, or call them at 410-268-4388. Also, you can check them out on Facebook and their website!

Toby, 8

Toby Beagle Mix

Can you tell by his facial expression how playful he is? Just look at that exuberant smile ... it's contagious! Toby is as smart and curious as they come; he loves to sniff everything when he goes for walks, and he peers out the window to see what's going on in the world. Although he is older, he does need to participate in some obedience classes – he picks things up quickly but needs to work on his manners. Be sure to meet him here!

Skeeter Lily, 6

Courtesy of SPCA of Anne Arundel County

Skeeter Lily is so sweet and patient, she will change your life – seriously! Bonus, she even gets along with other cats and dogs (with a slow introduction)! Just be aware that she is very shy so you will need to give her time to warm up to you! Check her out here!

Baltimore Barcs Animal Rescue and Care Shelter | Baltimore

Baltimore Barcs Animal Rescue is a wonderful shelter in Baltimore that can be found at 301 Stockholm St., Baltimore, MD 21230. Call them at 410-396-4695 if you have any questions. Check them out on Facebook and their website, and take a look at their adoption policy here!

His smile – oh my goodness! He just looks like the happiest dog! Duck understands basic commands and likes going out for jogs, so he would need an active home. Find him here!

TG (Mimo), 6

TJ Calico

TG's coat pattern is stunning, and those eyes ... just gorgeous! She does not like to be alone, so make sure to have a kitty companion for her (they encourage her bravery). Her favorite thing is the world is treats. Once she warms up to you, she will shower you with love! Check her out here!
