For years, Tolkien fans have celebrated Tolkien Reading Day on March 25 in honor of the famed author and his works, more notably The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit. Why March 25? According to the Tolkien Society, March 25 commemorates the day that Sauron was defeated once and for all. Duh.

To honor J.R.R. Tolkien and his brilliant works, we've compiled our 11 favorite quotes from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit books. So, grab your lembas (Elvish bread), and let's go on an adventure to Middle-earth!
