Obsessed with the royal wedding? Head over to the new pop-up bar in the Shaw neighborhood for some noble festivities!
From the makers of the famous Cherry Blossom Pop-Up Bar, comes a bar devoted to the royal couple and the upcoming royal wedding. Drink Company will host this new bar starting on May 4 and will feature a special viewing party for the royal wedding on the morning of May 19. The pop-up bar will have many sophisticated drinks such as the Markle Sparkle (aperol, rose cider, sparkling water, and glitter), the When Harry Met Meghan (monkey shoulder scotch, ginger, banana, and lemon) and the As Is Tradition (vodka, coffee liqueur, Guinness, and cold brew).
You can also donate $2 to either have the British Embassy deliver a congratulations card to Kensington Palace or be entered in a raffle to win a replica of the royal cake.
Drink Company has not released photos of what the pop-up bar will look like, but we imagine it will be simply divine. The website features beautiful pastel colors and many delicate flowers, so get your cameras ready! Here's hoping there is at least one corgi replica in the bar!
Thinking of checking it out? The bar reminds people that you need to be 21 or older to enter, and there is no cover charge to get in. The website also tells visitors to keep in mind the times when the bar may be busy:
"We've found that the heaviest wait times in past pop-ups are between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m., with the shortest lines either before opening (queues generally begin one hour before opening) or late evening. Weekdays are typically shorter waits than weekends."
