Haven’t made plans for St. Patrick’s Day? RFK Stadium in D.C. is hosting this year’s Shamrockfest -- the largest St. Paddy’s Day Festival in the nation. On March 17, thousands of partyers will come to RFK stadium to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the 2018 Shamrockfest. The event is the biggest of its kind -- both locally and nationally -- and features multiple stages of rock bands, both new and old alike. Shamrockfest is more than just a big rock concert, however, the festival features things like party games, a massive DJ party tent, Irish dancers, a carnival area, extreme activities, and bag pipers.
Headlining the event is multi-platinum Canadian rock group Sum 41, who, since 1996, has received numerous awards and significant airplay on radio and MTV and just last year was awarded by the Alternative Press Music Awards as the “artist of the year.” Also on the bill is Grammy Award-winning and Jamaican-born rapper Shaggy, as well as Celtic rock band Kilmaine Saints, who will bring some Irish flavor to the party. For discounted group ticket packages, VIP tickets, and online ticket purchases, visit the event's website. Attracting roughly 40,000 people each year, Shamrockfest is known to draw a raucous and rowdy crowd (not unlike that of an Irish soccer game!), so parents should probably leave the kiddos home for this one.
