Here are some must-have tips and tricks to help you make the most of the festival season!

With summer in full-force, you may want to take advantage of all of the concerts and music festivals in Colorado – and you definitely should! If you're new to the scene or even if you've been attending festivals for years, here are a few tips and tricks to help you ensure that you have the best time possible. I've compiled a list of them below to use as your festival guide and guarantee a great experience!

Drink Lots of Water

This may seem like the most obvious of tips for festival season, but it is also the most important! It is very easy to get dehydrated while you're partying under the Colorado sun. Time goes by when you're having fun, and the heat is not something to ignore or take lightly. Especially if you are 21+ and plan on drinking (if permitted), staying hydrated should be your number one priority if you want to make it through the entire concert/festival without passing out or getting sick.

Expect to Make Friends

The festival-goer crowd is ultimately one of the most friendly and welcoming group of people you will come across. If you don't already go to festivals and make friends each time, then you should start! For the most part, everyone is there to experience the music and the energy of the crowd, so if you contribute to that positive energy and are friendly with everyone you meet, you are sure to make some friendships that could last a lifetime.

Be Open-Minded

If you have never been to a festival before, there are a handful of traditions that festival-goers like to participate in. They are all about friendship and shared experience, and if you go in with an open mind, you never know what new fun traditions you may become a part of. There are all different kinds of people with all different kinds of interests, but you will all share the same interest in music, and you should always keep this in mind when in new environments.

Plan Ahead

There is almost always going to be a lineup of different artists at music festivals, and this can also mean there may be multiple stages with artists playing simultaneously. It helps to look at the lineup of the festival before you go, and to try to plan out which artists you know you definitely want to see. This way, you will know where you need to be and when, however, try to go with the flow because you may end up missing one artist's show and still loving the stage you decided to stay at. Either way, try your best to have a game plan, but have flexibility if you need to.

Don't Think too Much

When you go into a music festival, there's likely going to be so much happening, and you're probably going to want to experience it all. My suggestion to you is to go in and try to see and do as much as you can, but don't think too hard about it. The things you will be able to experience will outweigh anything that you may miss. Plus, there's always next time if you don't get to everything you wanted. Just go and have fun! Everything will fall into place.
