A Virginia man won $4 million off the "$100 Million Cash Extravaganza" Virginia lottery ticket after forgetting about the ticket for a month.

Jeff Kretzer is undoubtedly very happy he checked his drawer in January 2018. The Chesterfield, Virginia, man had bought a Virginia scratch-off lottery ticket and placed it in his drawer for safe-keeping. He then forgot about the ticket and just happened to stumble upon it a month later. When he scratched the ticket he first thought he won $4,000. He told the news media that his first reaction was, "Oh, $4,000, this is going to be nice." Well, it got even better for him after he scratched off the rest of the ticket. Turns out he really won $4 million! This is the top cash prize for this lottery ticket. Kretzer is the third person to claim the top prize. There is still one $4 million ticket out there waiting to be claimed (Read: check your drawers, car consoles, wallets, etc. for any scratch tickets you've bought!). Prizes for the $100 Million Cash Extravaganza range from $20 to $4 million, with a $1 million second prize and a $100,000 third prize. The ticket was bought at MACS Retail, LLC, 7041 Commons Plaza in Chesterfield, which got a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Another Virginia man also won a $4 million prize when he bought a Virginia lottery ticket in March 2018. He bought the ticket against his wife's wishes, but it's unlikely she stayed mad at him after he won big. What do you think? Are you heading to the store to buy lottery tickets now? You ever win big?
