It’s been a cold one this year in the DMV, and with the weather being as unpredictable as it has been, there’s no end of this blistering winter in sight. So warm up with a bowl of these delectable creations found all over the DMV area. Ramen is usually classified as a cheap and quick college meal, but here in the city, it is one of the more popular meals to splurge on. Here are some of the best locations to grab one of these noodle concoctions.

Toki Underground

Toki Underground is probably one of the best ramen places in the city. It also prides itself as the first ramen restaurant in the district. The dishes are inspired by Taiwanese and Japanese cultures. Recently, they expanded their hours for the lunch crowd. For less than $20, folks can try their Kimchi Ramen or their staple, Toki Classic.  1234 H St. NE, Washington, D.C., 20002

Daikaya

Serving Sapporo style-ramen, Daikaya brings in custom noodles from Japan. With meals less than $15, folks can also add toppings to these already savory meals. Kizuna Sushi and Ramen

No vegetarian options here. All the broths are pork- or chicken-based. Their most popular is the Toro Chashu with chicken stock, bean sprouts, and benishoga (a type of Japanese pickle). Along with their refreshing ramen, Kizuna also serves specialty sushi. 8221 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22181

Jinya Ramen Bar

Right in the Mosaic District, this location is all about customizing. From the broth and noodles to toppings, this dish can be anything you're craving. If you're still unsure of what you want, there are staple menu items, as well as the chef’s special. Yona

The Curry Chicken Ramen is to die for at Yona. Other selections include the Miso Porky Ramen and Beef Udon. Yona also carries sandwiches and small plates. This is one of the best concept restaurants in Arlington. 4000 Wilson Blvd. C, Arlington, VA 22203
Oki Bowl
This quirky noodle house is right in Dupont Circle. Oki Bowl specializes in unique twists, including one made with coconut milk. It also comes with several “recommended” toppings, so you have a lot of control on the dishes. There are also a lot of Thai-Japanese-infused dishes served. Ren’s Ramen

This Silver Spring spot is extremely no-frills. People can add their choice of flavor (miso, soy sauce, or salt) to the broth to strengthen the taste and fullness of their dishes. Sakuramen

This spot in Adams Morgan is Korean-inspired. They have signature vegetarian options, a spicy miso, one for meat lovers, and even a D.C.-inspired dish (D.C.
