There's nothing quite as interesting as a summer artist festival.

The Halcyon By the People Festival needs to be added to your D.C. summer bucket list. It’s an incredible showcase of local, national, and international artists in all sorts of varying art forms. Here's what you need to know. "By the People" will be held June 21–24 in various hubs around the city, including Union Market and the National Cathedral, where artists will set up their installations and create their pop-up performances. You can view the full list of hubs and satellite locations for some smaller showcases, here. The mission of the festival is to create a ...
“new international arts and dialogue festival to take place in every quadrant of the city and focus on the themes of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Expect a full-on arts takeover of Washington during the four-day extravaganza, with interactive visual art installations, performances ranging from ballet to go-go, high-profile speakers, and an augmented reality art hunt.”

You can register in advance to receive a free four-day exclusive pass to attend the festival, or you can follow along with the schedule and show up to what’s most interesting. Check out the festival website for more information.
