17. 'epiphany'
Of all the gems on "folklore," "epiphany" is the only one that doesn’t quite sparkle for me. I appreciate Swift's attempt to recreate her grandfather’s experiences at Guadalcanal, and how she nobly tries to tie it to the modern tragedy of COVID-19, but lines like “just a flesh wound” (a Monty Python reference?) mar meaningful lines like “hold your hand through plastic now.”
