By December 31, every Chuck E. Cheese store across the nation will be tossing aside some of its most iconic themes in an attempt to keep up with the changing times.
In order to stay relevant with the times, all Chuck E. Cheese locations are being redesigned over the next couple months, chucking out their age-old animatronic band and coins and redoing their logo and colors, among other changes. The company began the project in 2017 and plans to complete the makeovers by the end of this year.
The restaurant also plans to install a light-up dance floor where Chucky will appear every hour, add new "sleeker furniture" with a "refined signature," and change the coins to load-up cards or wristbands with unlimited play.
Parents will simply purchase a load-up card or wristband and set a time-limit, and then the kids are allowed to play an unlimited number of games until the time runs out. Chuck E. Cheese has not announced the price of the new wristbands or play cards, but we imagine it will be similar to before.

While the animatronic band and play coins are what set the arcade and restaurant apart, this is a change we can get behind!
