Big news for movie buffs!
Moviegoers in Colorado will be happy to hear that Cinemark is reopening its movie theatres across the state this weekend.
Cinemark Holdings Inc. will reopen all of its Colorado locations this Friday, January 8, after updated COVID-19 guidelines allow them to host in-person guests. Tickets are now on sale for both regular showtimes and private groups. Showtimes are listed online. Check out the Cinemark website to see what your preferred theatre is showing.
Guests can still reserve a Private Watch Party for their group for $99 and choose from classic films, or $149 for new releases.
Theatres will abide and enforce all local public health mandates at each location. Face masks will be required for all guests. Other safety steps include staggered showtimes, limited capacity seating, and each theatre will be cleaned with a pressurized disinfectant between all showtimes. Each employee will have a wellness check before their shift and wear face masks and gloves.
Public surfaces and areas of high traffic such as restrooms will be sanitized on a 30-minute rotation, and seat wipes and hand sanitizer will be available to guests. Guests are encouraged to purchase contactless tickets online as well as to employ contactless payment options at the snack bar. Cash payment options will be limited, and paper tickets purchased onsite will no longer be handed to the doorman.

As a safety measure, Cinemark will not open self-serve candy stations, nor will they accept the annual refillable cups or popcorn tubs. If you purchased an annual cup, they will honor the purchase and provide guests with a one-time-use container. The 2020 discount will be extended through March 31, 2021, to make up for the dates that theatres have been closed. Not all in-house dining options and bars will be open; those options will start to be operational when all safety protocols can be met.
Cinemark is also employing a higher air quality standard and starting to use bipolar ionization in its air systems to help deactivate airborne viruses and constraints. Each theatre now also has a Chief Clean & Safety Monitor on duty throughout operating hours to ensure that all social distancing, safety, and cleaning standards are being used. Learn more here about all the different safety measures and COVID-19 changes at Cinemark.
