There's been a huge demand for in-home office spaces lately.

Though many companies have had to lay off employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Denver-based company Tuff Shed is looking for a few good Coloradans to fill open positions.

Tuff Shed manufactures outdoor sheds, garages, and other outdoor storage buildings. The company has experienced a huge boost in business, and not because people want outdoor garden sheds—a lot of the new business is from people wanting to construct a home office space, in addition to building sheds for medical testing sites.

“We’ve had to balance the needs of essential healthcare and governmental entities during Covid-19 with the increase in more typical demand by consumers with additional storage needs,” says Tuff Shed Chief Operating Officer Mike Casey. “In addition, home owners are spending more time at home and many of our customers are now looking for home offices, studios, educational space, and other ways to create more usable space.”

In recent weeks, the company has been getting a lot of requests from people who need help creating some in-home office space, a space to homeschool the kids, and a space to store food and supplies they might be holding onto during the pandemic. Tuff Shed is now looking to hire more employees at all of the company’s 52 manufacturing locations to keep up with the demand.

The company is not looking for expert builders or master craftsman either. If you can handle basic carpentry tasks, they will train and teach you the rest. The company has several positions posted, from production through management. Check out their career possibilities on the website.

“We’re looking for people with great attitudes who can be great coworkers for our amazing team,” says Casey. “Construction and manufacturing experience is always a plus, but we’re willing to train people with no experience who are looking for a new and stable career. In most roles we are even paying a hiring and retention bonus as well.”

Does building extra space and turning a shed into a comfortable and productive place for families and professionals sound like a job you might be interested in? What other Colorado companies do you know of that are hiring right now? Give us the details in the comments.
