Bring some joy this holiday season!
This holiday season, a home health care facility in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, is working to bring joy to hundreds of seniors. Bayada Home Health's "Adopt a Grandparent" program will set the holiday spirit for 300 elderly who may feel isolated during this time of the year.
With the ongoing pandemic, the residents of these senior care facilities are having a harder time than anyone. Most of the elderly have restricted visitors, and some are even quarantined to their bedroom and only get a chance to meet their caregivers.
"COVID has been really hard on our senior living communities. In March, they restricted visitors to them and many of them have not seen a family member since," said Angela Caniglia, a registered nurse of the facility.
With this program, the seniors of Annapolitan Assisted Living Community are in for a treat and will receive different kinds of presents from puzzle books to soaps, stuffed toys for their pets and more.
"We are giddy, excited about, like, how this has taken off and just how much the community has given back to us," said Erin Ward, a speech therapist in the facility.
The residents will receive a gift bag full of personal items, a card, and a surprise gift.
If you are willing to send a gift bag, you can drop it off at Beefalo Bob's restaurant at 8015 Fort Smallwood Road in Baltimore. You can also send an email to [email protected] for any queries.
