Bethesda-based Bark Social is expanding to Baltimore later this year. The dog park-combination-brewery is a unique place where people and their pups come to socialize. It operates on a subscription model with individual day passes for purchase. The first Bark Social opened in the Pike & Rose complex in February and quickly became a hotspot. The Bethesda location has an open area dog park, covered seating area, and food & drinks windows for dogs and humans. Membership plans include unlimited access to the park, discounts on merchandise, and perks like a "bark ranger" to clean up after your dog.
The Baltimore Bark Social will be located in Canton near the Natty Boh factory and is slated to open later this year. Unlike the Bethesda location, this one will also have a cozy climate-controlled indoor area. Bark Social has a self-serve wall with 20 craft beer taps along with craft cocktails, wine, and coffee drinks. Humans can also get a variety of sandwiches, chicken fingers, empanadas, and sides, as well as a selection of breakfast items. The pup menu includes puppy ice cream, a PUPmosa made with chicken broth, beet juice and whipped cream, and a selection of dog beers.
To keep things safe, Bark Social requires pup parents to provide vaccination records for their dogs and only animals that have been spayed or neutered can enter. The parks also have a self-serve doggy wash and an offering of merchandise including treats, toys, and toiletries. Memberships start at $40 a month or $10 for a day pass, with discounts for additional dogs. Humans of all sizes are admitted for free.
Baltimore Bark Social is now accepting a limited number of discounted annual memberships ahead of the opening later this year. A membership from either location will get you access to both parks.
