Betty Hoover and her twin sister Peggy Coppom have been attending athletic events at CU for decades!
It's a sad day for Buff Nation as one of its beloved twins has passed away. Betty Hoover and Peggy Coppom are two of the University of Colorado's biggest fans and have been devoted fans for roughly 80 years.
Unfortunately, it was announced last Wednesday that Betty, 95, has died after battling pancreatic cancer.
"Betty [Hoover] and Peggy Coppom have been attending CU Athletics contests for over 70 years and have been season ticket holders since 1958. While we have many great fans, none have been more visible and loved than Betty and Peggy. If you know CU Athletics you know Betty and Peggy," said Colorado Athletic Director Rick George in a statement.
It's being asked that in lieu of flowers, Betty's family is asking for memorial gifts to be sent directly to the CU Athletics Department or the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Boulder. Gifts can be sent to:
369 UCB, Champions Center
Boulder, CO 80309
Attn: Scott McMichael
There will be a family-only service at a later date, but a public "Celebration of Life" may also be held later this fall.
